How I Met My Best Friend One morning I woke up and was so exited But, I was also a little nervous. It was my first day of school back from the summer. I was in forth grade and it was my first year at a private school! I raced down stairs and got in the car. I waited on my mom to get in the car. When she got in she drove me to school and said “Have a good first day at school.”
“OK I’ll try.” I answered.
I walked in and thought, “Wow, this is a small school.” It looked like a little white barn. It had just one whole room with all of the teachers in it! After I stopped looking around I found my desk and started putting my stuff in it. The bell rang I stopped and sat in my chair. This lady, who had blonde curly hair, glasses, and brown eyes came up to the front. She said her name and that she was the principal. Her name was Mrs. Callahan. Once our classes started I got to see who was in my class. There was only one other person in my class. She had brown straight hair, brown eyes, and freckles. Her name was Savannah and she was a little weird so I probably wasn’t going to be friends with her. The only thing that made me want to be friends with her was that she was nice really nice.
She let me eat with her. She also played with me at recess. She really liked me. I thought she was weird, because I wasn’t used to people like her but, she was nice. At 3:15 pm my mom was there to pick me up. When I got in the car I told her about the weird, but, nice girl. The next day I did it all over again but this time I didn’t think she was so weird. The third day she wasn’t weird at all. I was getting used to her. That day she became my best friend. When I got in the car at 3:15 pm I told my mom about my new best friend.
I learned not to just assume that you aren’t going to be friends with someone. That’s what I did when I said she probably wasn’t going to be my friend. They might turn out to be your best friend.
